How The Persistent Pain Management Program Works
You can seek treatment through the Persistent Pain Centre as either a day patient or an inpatient.
Attending The Persistent Pain Management Centre As An Inpatient
You attend stay at the hospital and attend the pain clinic each day. You complete the course in 2 weeks.
Attending The Persistent Pain Management Centre As A Day Patient
As a day patient you come to the hospital for 3-5 hours a day to complete our program. You can do the program at your own pace (eg 1-2 days per week) but we recommend you complete it in 2 weeks attending Monday to Friday.
Treatment For All Sorts Of Pain
The Persistent Pain Centre treats all sorts of pain—back pain, joint pain, headaches, abdominal pain. They do not treat palliative care pain.
An Holistic Approach To Chronic Pain Management
The Persistent Pain Centre has a multi-disciplinary approach to pain management that includes pain specialists, rehabilitation specialists, occupational therapists, pharmacists and physiotherapists.
No Cost Chronic Pain Management
All costs of the The Pain Centre of Excellence are covered by your private health insurance or Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). WorkCover patients may be covered—please contact us for more details. There is a small out-of-pocket charge towards the provision of incidentals such as smart TV, Wi-Fi, bathroom amenities, phone, ward-stock medications, delivery of pharmaceuticals, etc.
